This shot was done on a sunny afternoon in May 2014 at the USNWC in Charlotte, NC. I was hiking down a river bed focusing on not getting bit by a snake and found myself surrounded by several male and female Common Whitetail dragon flies. Once I finally got them to calm down, I managed to get this shot only after managing my get myself into a patch of briar that I much regretted after the shutter was clicked.
